Spring Changes in Cheyenne’s Restaurants

Spring brings a lot of changes to the restaurant scene in Cheyenne. Let’s try to catch up on some of them just in time for your lunch today.

J’s Taco Bistro, on 17th street has added a daily happy hour with drink and 1/2 off food specials. The happy hour runs from 4-6 each day according to their Facebook page. Their menu keeps evolving, they claim to be going for Mexican with a a twist.

Suite 1901 is now open for lunch downtown. The Suite is owned by the former Shadow’s owners, so with less on their plate, it looks like they’ve decided to try the fickle lunch crowd.

Freedom’s Edge Brewing on Pioneer continues to serve a wide variety of beers, and it looks like their brew house is running a lot closer to capacity. There are a lot of empty kegs in the back, hopefully that means we will be seeing them on tap around town again soon.

Speaking of Freedom’s Edge. It is food truck season again, and it looks like they will have one there as often as the profits allow. In fact there is movement afoot to make it easier for food trucks to operate in Cheyenne. Contact city council and ask them to study the problem.

In case you missed it Chick-Fil-A opened a stand alone location near Menards last week. While a national chain, this store has local owners who are generous members of the community. When thinking fast food, that’s a good way to shop local.

No word yet on the opening of Wasabi Grill in the Avanti Piazza off of Dell Range.

Of course we’ve covered the Cheyenne Brewing Company extensively on the blog, but good news is that they will have both the front and back patios open this summer. A great development for train lovers.
