Cheyenne finally has the signature downtown dining experience they’ve been lacking for a number of years. Wyoming’s Rib and Chop House opens its doors in the Dineen building at the corner of W. Linconway and Pioneer today.
The restaurant will be open for lunch and dinner every day and also features a beautiful bar with 30 beers on tap, an extensive wine list and great selection of liquor.
Ever since moving here a year ago, I’ve been disappointed that the cuisine of the west, beef, has been so hard to find and enjoy in Cheyenne. I have great hopes that the opening of the chop house will help anchor and revitalize downtown Cheyenne.
We had a chance to get a sneak preview of the restaurant earlier this week and that preview certainly did not dash my hopes. The food was good, the service eager and the atmosphere was great. I enjoyed a tasty Hand-cut Rib Eye and Lorrell ordered a Fried Green Tomato appetizer which was large enough for an entree.
We will give them a few months to sort out the kinks before writing up a full review, but until then I’ll leave you with this fantastic dessert to get your taste buds ready. This Pecan Meltaway was huge, full of ice cream and very, very good. They do make all of their desserts in house, except for the cheesecake.
Wyoming’s Rib and Chop House will be taking reservations, so call ahead and make sure you have a table.
